Registered Nurse – Casual
Lady Wigram Village, a state-of-the-art residential and care facility in Wigram, Christchurch, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our newly established clinical team. This is a casual position.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a newly created facility and oversee the delivery of high-quality care to residents.
Lady Wigram Village is a family-owned and operated business offering 140 care beds including rest home, hospital, palliative and dementia level care.
Working in an environment such as this, it goes without saying that you will be professional, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with residents and their families.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Overall responsibility for Care Centre residents during night duty
• Leadership and direction of our experienced Caregivers
• Nursing assessments and care planning using Hercules nursing documentation software
• Providing safe, competent, and resident-centred nursing care
• Monitoring and supporting resident wellbeing, including proactive problem-solving
• Medication management using MediMap
You will enjoy the challenge of helping to establish and embed our new care facilities. As with any new service, there may be some teething issues, so you will be someone who is happy to roll up your sleeves and take a hands-on approach until we reach “business as usual”.
About You
• Minimum of one year’s experience working in the aged care sector
• Current New Zealand Nursing Council registration
• A current First Aid certificate
• Legal right to live and work in New Zealand
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confident computer literacy with clear and accurate documentation skills
